This ‘Dark Ride’ experience was created for a themed attraction in China, our team at our Tel Aviv studio was asked to create this immense attraction cinematic experience to feature as part of a dark ride section of the Dinosaur Land Tram tour that happens once the cart enters an immersive prehistoric cave. The content was directed, produced and delivered by our in-house team who worked in close partnership with the ride designers ‘Super 78’ using state-of-the-art pre-visualization techniques delivered through a custom-built VR application and viewed on VR headsets to mimic real-world experience enabling the whole production process to be delivered and reviewed in real-time.
This type of production technology is becoming more widely used in the entertainment industries and beginning to change the landscape of virtual CG production allowing the client and technical partners to review content, deliver higher quality rendering and refine the whole review and delivery experience remotely in ways that were not previously possible for the long format content creation industries.
The ride consisted of a tradition cart ride through an outdoor section of the experience where the passenger is taken through deep forests where you are confronted with full scale animatronic Dinosaurs before you are directed into the cave where you are presented with our high resolution pre-rendered stereoscopic action-packed content which is projected through 4 x 8K resolution projectors played on two screens which were 20 meters long and 6 meters high.
The client wanted to make an epic cinematic experience based on our ability to deliver world class quality action packed CG rendered cinematic quality long form content which would completely immerse and engage for the viewer. Our animation was not only visually exciting but was designed to get your heart pumping by syncing the movement and action to the hydraulics of the cart simulating the bumping and movements of the cart through the water scenes.
Prehistoric was a massively exciting project to be asked to create and we had a lot of fun bringing the concepts to life in such an epic way.
