Life beyond the smartphone

What will be the next disruptive technology that could replace the smartphone. This is an interesting presentation from David Ma, a second year student Stanford’s business school, who makes the case that the ‘next big thing’ is augmented reality.

Could we eventually replace all our technology such as computing, TV’s and smart devices with a simple wearable such as AR glasses?

Although this seems a long way off, is it? We are already seeing technology companies producing some amazing hardware, and although at present they are bulky and expensive in relation to a consumer based market, as these technologies become more scaleable and more intelligent, it could become a reality sooner than we think.
